Hi employers – It doesn’t take long for new hires to decide whether or not they’re going to stick around these days, does it? So here’s what makes the difference, how you onboard them in those first few days, weeks and months.

  1. Onboarding isn’t orientation or induction 

Onboarding goes beyond simply introducing your company to new hires (and vice versa). It’s not just about paperwork, and it’s not over in a day. Onboarding them effectively needs to cover a whole lot more. 

  1. Onboarding doesn’t start on day 1! It starts when they read the advert 

So make sure your advertising messages and all your interaction with candidates  reinforce your values and expectations of them because they’re choosing you, not just you choosing them.
